Vintage Buena Park Condo, In Need of Kitchen Rehab, for $215K

In the market for some new digs, but don't have a sky-high budget? Join the club — The Under 300K Club.

What's this? An 1,800-square-foot condo in a historic building, just steps from the lakefront, and it's selling for just $215K? There must be a catch! Indeed there is. "Bring your contractor/designer," writes the agent in the listing copy — never a good sign. Turns out, the kitchen is unfinished and lacks appliances, save for an antique stove, which the seller is leaving behind. (There are also W/D hookups, but no machines.) Yeah, it's a project, but as the listing says, "all the bones are here." Namely, the coffered ceiling in the living room, decorative crown molding, French doors, and a handsome wood-burning fireplace. The seller tested the market about two years ago for $299,000, but it never sold. This spring, the 2BD, 1.5BA condo came back on the market for $215,000. Parking isn't included.
