Price Drops $225K on the Home Alone House in Winnetka

New, 9 comments

Tobogganing down the front stairs of one of the area's most popular homes just got a little bit less expensive. (It's still pretty expensive, though.) One month after listing the Winnetka house that Macaulay Culkin valiantly defended in the movie Home Alone, owners John and Cynthia Abendshein have lowered the price. The current owners have been living in the iconic home since 1988, when they bought it for $875,000. And judging from the listing photos, they've done a great job of maintaining the 90-year-old Georgian Colonial. The home hit the market for $2.4 million last month, and it's now priced at $2.175 million.
