The current owners of this four-bedroom single-family on the southwest edge of Logan Square clearly have a thing for plants. Their green thumb is expressed in the oversize tropicals that fill the living room and dining room, the vines that dangle over the cupboards in the kitchen, but mostly, in the beautifully-landscaped garden that runs along the side of the house and into the backyard, which features a lily pond. $50,000 went into the landscaping, according to the listing (which refers to it as a "botanical garden"), and we don't doubt it. And, if you can peer through the leaves and branches to see the interior, it looks pretty inviting as well. The 1,800-square-foot home was built in 1895, and it was recently rehabbed, with new stainless/cherry in the kitchen and a new heating and A/C system. The oak staircase is original. Earlier this month, the home was reduced by $13,000 (one of several reductions), bringing it down to $299,000, which is right in our wheelhouse.
