Community Meeting Scheduled for Proposed West Loop Tower

New, 6 comments

One week after it was revealed that developer Urban R2 still plans to build Catalyst at Washington and Desplaines another proposed high-rise just around the corner appears to be back in play. The Fulton River District Association website announced today that Alderman Reilly, FRDA and developer Jupiter Realty will be holding a community meeting in two weeks to discuss a high-rise at 108 N. Jefferson. Several years ago, Jupiter proposed building a 41-story apartment tower on that site that the community rejected due to "height, residential density and lack of public green space," according to the FRDA website. Area residents said they would have preferred an office building. So now, it appears that Jupiter and Solomon Cordwell Buenz have returned with a new, much shorter design that looks like an office building. The community meeting will be on May 19 at R+D659 at 7PM.
