Pampered Chef Founder Drops Price $300K on Hinsdale Home

Doris Christopher, the woman who founded the Pampered Chef line of kitchen tools and cookbooks, lowered the price on her 17,000-square-foot mega-mansion in Hinsdale last week. The home hit the market in October for $6.8 million, and it's now priced at $6.5 million. Relative to the list price, that reduction of $300K isn't much, but it's inching closer to the $6.33 million the Christophers paid for the home in 2003, which, according to the Trib, was the highest sale price ever in Hinsdale up to that point. The massive home sits on a nearly 2-acre lot, and it has a pool, 9 fireplaces, and of course, a kitchen that "appeals to the most accomplished chef, all the latest appliances," according to the listing. Suffice it to say that whoever ends up buying it will be a supremely pampered homeowner.
