Price Drops on Home with Rooftop Basketball Court, Indoor Pool

New, 1 comment

Not many homes in Chicago can boast a rooftop basketball court or an indoor pool, but this place actually has both. There's nothing ordinary about the interior, either. The 9,000-square-foot home is a converted nail factory, and according to an old CS article, the current owners gave interior designer Stephanie Wirth and Leo Designs carte blanche to design the place. They even brought in a metalworker to design a custom glass and iron screen to separate the entryway from the living area, and to keep cold air from coming in. The resulting home is very modern and chic, but it also looks rather homey. Despite its charms, the home hasn't found a buyer yet. Considering the size, the customizations, and especially the price, maybe that isn't so surprising. The home hit the market for $3.75 million last spring, and the price has since been reduced three times. This week, it was relisted for $3.12 million.
