Today, architecture critic Blair Kamin takes another look at Mayor Daley's impact on Chicago's urban landscape. On the plus side, he lists Millennium Park, the greening of Chicago, the Museum Campus, and landmark preservation. As for the blunders, he didn't pass up the opportunity to get some more jabs in at the Soldier Field renovation, as well as some other highly questionable moves (parking meter deal, Children's Museum). Kamin is more ambivalent about the recent building boom, which produced many formulaic eyesores (but also some icons), public housing, Navy Pier and Meigs Field. [Cityscapes]
