The Elements Collection: Small, Modern, Urban Retreat Homes

New, 1 comment

Earlier this week we took a look at The Elements Group's plans to redevelop Gill Park in Lakeview. That isn't the only new project that Alan Bell has up his sleeve, though. Bell (who is also a driving force behind the new Black Ensemble Theatre) also told us about his plans for The Elements Collection, a portfolio of small urban retreat homes that he'll unveil later this year. The concept is pretty novel, but Bell says his company will produce "holistic" interior design palettes for people who are interested in buying a place in the city as a getaway. The Elements Group will work with existing developers and homeowners to develop the spaces, which, like Bell's other projects, will have a heavy focus on modern design and sustainability. "I'm hoping that people who like modern design will be excited about it," Bell says. The homes will be less than 1,000 square feet and they'll likely be priced between $200,000 and $250,000, according to Bell. A model unit is currently under construction on the 55th floor of a high-rise on Irving Park Road, and it's scheduled to open in September.
