Since it was announced almost two months ago that a Hyatt Place hotel will be built at Harper and 52nd Place in Hyde Park we've been anxious to see a rendering of the new building. In March, the developers presented some images of it at a Hyde Park TIF meeting, and reactions were pretty mixed. Finally, this week, the Hyde Park Herald got its hands on some slides from one of those meetings, including a bunch of renderings of the six-story hotel. It looks like a serviceable building, but it's certainly not going to blow any minds. Let's just say it fits in pretty well with the Starbucks next door. Plans call for cafe tables along Harper Avenue and a green roof on top. The 130-room hotel is scheduled to open in 2013.
