"People are more willing to put their marginal homebuying dollar towards location or size than they are a possible reduction in energy costs and Green piece-of-mind, especially when the claims are vague or bizarre and the reductions in energy footprint questionable. Also I get the feeling that most renters who are in the market to eventually buy a home probably don't think they'll see the possible long-term costs savings from even renting green, so there goes that option. This might change eventually, but green residential has so far lagged way, way behind green commercial or industrial." —infillicious [Green Single-Family in Bucktown, Now for Less Green]
