Blogger Kristin Ostberg doesn't update her Bridgeport blog The Hardscrabbler too often, but when she does, it's always a good read. In her latest post, Ostberg takes a look at the Bridgeport real estate market, which hasn't been hit as hard as many Chicago neighborhoods. Noting its similarity to the nearby Chinatown market, she speculates that Bridgeport's stability can be chalked up to a combination of factors including the neighborhood's "famous insularity," its risk-averse culture and the lack of large, multi-unit buildings in the neighborhood.
