Ex-Blackhawk Dustin Byfuglien Loses $185K on North Side Home

New, 1 comment

We applaud former Blackhawks player Dustin Byfuglien for his taste in purchasing this attractive French country home in Roscoe Village, but ultimately, the Stanley Cup hero ended up losing money on the house. When he bought the new-construction home for $130K less than the original list price in 2008, it probably seemed like a pretty good deal. But then, Big Buff got shipped to the Atlanta Thrashers in a seven-player trade, and in September he listed the 4,200-square-foot home for $1.29 million. The home went under contract in late January, and it finally sold yesterday for $1.08 million. According to the Tribune, Byfuglien added security cameras, a media center, and closet organizers.
