A Solar-Ready Townhouse in Bronzeville for $350K

New, 3 comments

It's been more than 30 years since Jimmy Carter installed solar panels on the White House roof, but it's still pretty uncommon to find a Chicago home that comes equipped with them. The listing for this recently-rehabbed townhouse near the intersection of 35th and King Drive in Bronzeville says that it comes with solar panels that provide the home with electricity and hot water (no word on exactly how much juice they generate, though). The 1886 home has been rehabbed recently, and it has four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and 3,020 square feet of floor space. The listing photos are a bit fuzzy, but it appears to have an industrial kitchen with some newer finishes. The place hit the market last month, and it's priced at $350,000.
