Sutherland to Be Added to National Register?

Antheus Capital is closer to getting the former Sutherland Hotel listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If approved, the developer would be able to apply for historic tax credits, which would make them eligible for 20 percent tax breaks. Antheus is currently rehabbing the Kenwood building, which it plans to return to the market with 107 rental apartments. Some legendary beboppers performed in a nightclub that was located in the building '50s and '60s, but it has since fallen into disrepair. Antheus plans to rehab it, along with the building's other commercial space. [Hyde Park Herald]
