130-Year-Old Queen Anne in Morgan Park Reduced by $150,000

The PricecChopper strikes another historic Queen Anne — this time it's the brightly-colored German House in the Far South Side neighborhood of Morgan Park. According to the AIA Guide to Chicago, the 1884 home was built for Dr. William German and designed by his brother, architect Frederick German. The home's 3,400-square-foot interior looks rather old-ladyish, but it appears to be in good condition. It sits on an oversize 85' x 260' lot with lots of rare plants and trees, according to the listing. The home hit the market for $729,900 last April, and it was recently reduced to $499,000.
