Victorian Outside, "Avant Garde" Inside at this Lincoln Park Home

New, 7 comments

Don't judge a house by its facade. From the street, we're presented with a beautifully-restored 1891 brick Victorian. Step inside, and you enter an entirely different era and aesthetic. The listing describes it as a "contrasting architecturally 'avant-gard' [sic] yet comfortable interior." It certainly is different. Our heart skipped a beat when we saw the rock formations above the bed in the second bedroom, but alas, they're not the real thing — they're just painted on. According to the listing, all three levels in the 4,800-square-foot home have outdoor decks. The place has been on the market for almost two years, and it's priced at $1.75 million.
