Oak Park Development Watch

After failing to secure majority support from the Oak Park Plan Commission last month, Sertus Capital Partners' 20-story apartment tower is before the Village Trustees for a do-or-die vote. Planned for the corner of Lake & Forest in downtown Oak Park, the tower's inception dates back to 2009, when it was pitched as condos and a hotel. That version was approved by the Plan Commission and Village Board in 2010, but Sertus had to switch to apartments in a troubled market. Approval has proven more difficult this time around. The board's vote on the $91M 270-unit tower is expected in January. [Trib]
