The poll is now closed. Thanks to the hundreds who participated! The clear winner is the Robert Taylor Homes, whose massive footprint continues to plague the South Side several years after its demolition. It's a legacy that will take an awfully long time to suppress. The other nominees made a respectable showing, too: There's a lot of flub to go around.
Wrapping up Curbed's "Biggest Urban Renewal Flubs" series, we're now putting our week's worth of nominees to a vote. Exercise your right to pile on the hatred! In case you haven't read up on all the nominees, here are links to each post: The UIC Circle Campus, Robert Taylor Homes, The United Center, and Jackson Park 'L' Removal. It's been great reading the many lucid and insightful comments.
