Listing: 2016 N Keeler Ave [Coldwell Banker]
The Skinny: This 2/2 needs a lot of love and patience. That it manages two full baths at just 800 sf impresses. It's got a yard, patio, and parking for two. And just for the hell of it, a puny glass-block window. Located just off Armitage in Hermosa, it's section 8 approved, if that's your thing. Asking $79,900, it's been on the market for 15 months.
Listing: 5026 S Spaulding Ave [Su Familia]
The Skinny: Close but not too close to Midway is this especially teensy 2/1 cottage. Measuring in at 452 sf(!), it's particularly easy to feel subsumed by the neighboring industrial lots. It's main perk is the extra lot that comes with (which folks are fond of parking on). There's also a garage and a (supposedly) well-kept interior. Asking $153K, down from $183K.
Listing: 2119 N Marmora Ave [Century 21]
The Skinny: Even in the heart of bungalow-land, you can't get much more mundane than this 2/1 single fam. Fairly new to market, it's got a deep yard, enclosed porch, and updated kitchen. Billed as a "starter home" in the listing, judging by the decor it may also have been an "ending home". Asking $199K.
Listing: 3756 N Harlem Ave [RE/MAX]
The Skinny: Our largest pint-sized selection, this 2/1.5 Dunning bungalow tips the scales at 840 sf! The reason we included something so gluttonous is to display its charms for others to emulate. Despite the size, a good percentage of the living space is in the partially-finished basement. The sporadically-placed TV sets and weird half-wallpapering we don't recommend emulating. Good stuff includes the large yard, garage, and central air. Asking $147,500.
