Hey! Where'd Our People Go?

Who better to turn to for a grasp on migration trends than a major moving company? Plenty of real estate agencies use the data. The Sun-Times has shared the results of a United Van Lines annual study of interstate relocation, tracking over 113,000 moves in 2011. The (not so great) results? Illinois and New Jersey tied for the highest percentage of outbound-moves, at 60.5%. It probably has something to do with the much-talked-about exodus of African Americans to South, the reversal of the Great Migration as some go so far to venture. Washington D.C., as usual, had the highest in-migration at 62.2%, with several Southern states close behind. [Sun-Times]
