This property had at least a couple things working against it: Its general state of disrepair and its poorly-shielded proximity to the 'L' tracks. It overcame both, thanks to its low price and the other key fact of location— a stone's throw to Loyola Park and the beach. The large deck and back yard are in fine shape and while some basement work is necessary, the shoddy floors are a desirable but not urgent fix. Otherwise, the 1901 stucco 4-bed just needs some TLC. Listed at $299K in September, it sold two weeks ago for $271K.
