Two contentious West Loop projects are up for further review next Wednesday, Nov. 9th. Alderman Bob Fioretti is hosting a community meeting with presentations from Old St. Pat's on its plans for an office tower at Adams and Des Plaines (above, right), and the team behind the Toyoko Inn at 320 S Clinton. Curbed wrote in the Spring about NIMBYists congregating around the Old St. Pat's plan, speaking out against aesthetics and to protect their views from the 22-story obstruction. The Toyoko Inn (above, left) is to be wedged into a tiny surface lot between office buildings so presents less of a threat to home values, one would imagine. The Chicago Journal points to a conflict with neighboring Metra HQ over clearance for future building maintenance that delayed the project but appears to have been sorted out. Care to throw your hat in the ring? The meeting's set for 6pm at Francis Xavier Warde School, 120 S. Des Plaines.
