The listing for this 3-bed/3.5 bath coach house states that Merchandise Mart collaborated on the renovation of the 1890 structure. Does that mean they plopped down a showroom or two, except with plumbing? The kitchen looks pretty showroom-y; the furnishings smart and minimal. The central design feature is a two-tiered living room/dining room that succeeds in delineating space by use without walling it off. Other goodies include hardwood floors, spa baths, office/fitness room, large front terrace (aka small front yard), and an attached garage. Not sure we'd call it an extra-wide home like the listing does. It does fill out its lot more than most, but we're talking 25x65 here— smaller than a standard city lot. Another thing to know— there's a small monthly assessment of $140. New to market and asking $524,500. Not bad, not bad.
