"Relentlessly Chic" Former Welding Factory Sells for $940K

New, 3 comments

Gotta love listing language. The "chic" in this place is so "relentless" we're not sure how the new owner is ever gonna relax. Especially when the home is "pivoting" around a central landscaped courtyard. The converted welding factory has only 3 bedrooms, but spans 4,000 sf in dense East Village. It "feels like a Classic NYC loft" with its exposed brick, 12' ceilings, and steel and timber joists. Theoretically, maybe so, but you can live in NYC a long time and never be privy to such a space. There's the amazing floor-to-ceiling glass wall between the kitchen and courtyard, the perfect bathroom with its perfect tub, and the master suite with private access to a rooftop deck. OK, we admit, it really does have a well-executed chicness. Too bad for us all, the sale closed on Friday for $940,000.
