This Lincoln Park 3-bed Wants More than it Deserves

New, 7 comments

This ugly contemporary stares us down almost every time we conduct an MLS search. We never bothered blogging about it because just picking on its facade didn't seem enough. But now, after a year-and-a-half on the market without a buyer, the property has flipped to rental. The calamity continues— it's asking $8,000/mo for 3,200 sf, or $2.50 per square foot. The average rent per square foot in Lincoln Park is $1.80, according to RentJuice, and there's not much crappy housing to drag the stats down. This myopic pricing might have something to do with the owner's/agent's tendency to think of the home's architecture as something special. It does have sky-high windows and soaring ceilings, nice cherry floors, a really big kitchen, and other accoutrements. But c'mon! There's tons of far more tasteful stuff for less in Lincoln Park.
