Occupy Rooftops

Tapping into the momentum of the Occupy Wall Street movement, a new community-driven solar energy campaign calling themselves Occupy Rooftops is trying to frame the discourse on green energy as a struggle of the 99% v. the 1%. The 99% want innovative green energy, claims the movement, while the 1% in control of energy resources and production keep us lockstep with corporate profit motives. On community solar day, Occupy Rooftops will raise awareness of their campaign through meet-ups and guerrilla installations, and work to crowd-fund the upfront costs for widespread solar installation projects.
