Good Government: Moving Toward BRT

Bus Rapid Transit has fought for its right to party and won. A Wednesday CTA press release confirms that the Chicago Transit Board has passed two ordinances that allow projects on Jeffery and Western to move forward. An inter-governmental agreement and consulting contract will ensure that monies previously allocated to the projects are put to use, beginning with the Jeffery Corridor this Spring. The Jeffery proposal has more dedicated funding at the moment. With the level of bus ridership in this town, it's about time we had this level of commitment from the powers that be. [CTA]
