Strivin' Willis

The Infrastructurist is asking, just how green are the world's ten tallest skyscrapers? With Willis still on the list at #9, they got our attention. Greening efforts of the past two years, led by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, have not panned out. Wind turbines, solar panels, and a rooftop garden were originally planned, but appear to be off the table for now. The only improvements realized to date are low-flow water fixtures, higher-efficiency lighting, and the addition of blinds to windows. That's right, blinds. None of the tallest buildings are very energy efficient, but a few are ahead of Willis. [Infrastructurist]
