Redfin dropped its latest real estate Heat Map on us, indexing the city's September sales prices by zip code, as compared to September of last year. We're not a huge fan of anything based on an index other than 100 (it's 75 here), even though we're dealing in metaphor, but the map and accompanying data is useful in plotting local trends. It also includes months of supply by zip code, number of sales, and gains or losses in price/sq. ft.. Also, organizing data by zip isn't as friendly to the casual viewer as by neighborhood or ward.
