New immigrants are busy remaking the demographics of small cities and suburbs, according to findings by the Brookings Institute. Big cities are apparently not the magnets they once were. Of course, immigrant populations are growing almost everywhere, but the newest landing-pads for immigrants are predominantly southern and small or northern and suburban.
