Another Victorian on Hoyne, This Time in the Ukrainian Village

New, 1 comment

It's located a little bit south of the so-called "Beer Baron Row" on Hoyne in Wicker Park, but this 1888 Victorian at 1137 N. Hoyne belongs in the same company. The place is currently configured as a two-flat, but it's being marketed as a 3,000-square-foot single-family, an alternative to "$2,000,000 boxes," according to the listing. The interior doesn't appear to have been updated much, and it looks like the kitchen could use an upgrade. It still has some original woodwork and stained glass, and the master bedroom still features an antique marble sink next to the closets. Another interesting feature: a small bridge connects the house to a loft above a two-car garage, which the listing suggests could be used as a "stylish office/studio/child creativity center." The home has been on the market for more than a year, and the price has been reduced several times. It's now listed at $1.25 million.
