The South Loop is one of Chicago's more dog-friendly 'hoods, and as a consequence, the sidewalks are full of 'orphan poos,' as one South Looper calls them. Some residents (dog-haters, surely) are calling for draconian measures, like police crackdowns and surveillance cameras in the parks, to catch offending dog owners. Ald. Robert Fioretti is taking a softer approach. "While this is an important one in terms of quality of life, we need to be concerned on how we enforce the quality of life," he says. [Chicago Talks]
