Will developers finally get around to finishing Grant Park's "South Wall"? It's unlikely to happen anytime soon, but it's good to know that developers Fogelson Properties and Forest City Enterprises are at least thinking about it. Someone leaked a teaser brochure (PDF) from real estate management company Jones Lang LaSalle to YoChicago this afternoon promoting the property at South Michigan Avenue and Roosevelt Road (opposite the recently-complete One Museum Park West) to investors. "The property is the last large downtown parcel with all entitlements and utilities (including fiber optic) in place to accommodate any potential mix of uses," says the brochure. Commenters on forums like SkyScraperPage have drooled over renderings of the Grant Park South Wall for years, and although adding another 1,200 residential units to the soft South Loop market is probably ill-advised, many will take comfort in knowing that something big might be on the horizon.
