Bridgeport To Get a New Grocery Store

Bridgeport residents were bummed when the Jewel-Osco on Halsted closed three years ago, and then, to salt their wounds, The Egg Store closed its doors nearly a year ago. Finally, a new grocery option is on the horizon: Cermak Fresh Market will open an 18,000-square-foot store on the old Jewel site at 3033 S. Halsted St. in February or March. Hat tip to YoChicago.
