Back in September, the Chicago Tribune reported that Chicago Blackhawks goalie Cristobal Huet, who is currently on loan to the Swiss club Fribourg-Gottéron, was shopping his 5BD penthouse in River North for $3 million. After sitting on the market without selling for two months, Huet has listed the Millennium Centre home for rent, for $17,000 per month. That's $7,000 more per month than Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is asking for his Gold Coast condo, which is selling for $3.5 million. Corgan's pad seems like a better deal, but comparing a vintage Gold Coast home to a modern River North penthouse is apples and oranges. Besides, you can't put a price on that mini hockey rink. The 'Hawks are still on the hook for Huet's 2011 salary of $5.6 million, so there's still an outside chance he'll come back to Chicago to live in the place himself.
