Last month, Garrett Kelleher's lawyer maintained that the Chicago Spire isn't dead and that the Irish developer is looking for local and international investors to breathe new life into the failed supertall building. That may be true, but whatever they plan to do, Shelbourne Development will have to find a new Chicago HQ from which to operate. Crain's reports that Shelbourne owes $27,600 in unpaid rent and has vacated its 6,700-square-foot offices on the 50th floor of 111 South Wacker Drive. Shelbourne's lawyer told Crain's that the rent claim is in dispute, and he wasn't able to provide a new address for the company.
