Not everyone in the East Village is thrilled at the prospect of 250-seat Roots pizzeria and Bleeding Heart Bakery opening on the northeast corner of Chicago and Winchester in the East Village. A longtime resident of Winchester Avenue penned a post for the East Village Association blog last week, arguing that the development will undermine the stability of the 'hood, and that "good development does not mean building a playground only for transient and newly employed recent college graduates."
