Sinker Ball: Ex-Cubs Pitcher Ted Lilly Lowers the Price

Former Cubs southpaw Ted Lilly has been trying to sell his Wrigleyville home for about a month, and now the price is coming down. In October, the Trib reported that Lilly was informally shopping his 5BD, 5BA Wrigleyville mansion through D'Aprile Realty for an asking price of $2.4 million, but that it hadn't been listed on the MLS yet. That changed on Monday, when Lilly's 5,400 square-foot home was listed for $2.1 million — a reduction of 12.5 percent. Lilly was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in July, and he made $13 million in the 2010 season. According to Housing Watch, Lilly and his veterinarian wife own 12 different properties across the country, totaling about $20 million in value, and he paid cash for most of them. Lilly paid $2.15 million for the Wrigleyville home when he purchased it in 2006.
