Chicago VS. NYC Skyline Wars

New, 6 comments

Now that the Chicago Spire is kaput, the Windy City will lose the "America's Tallest Building" title to New York, because of that massive spire atop the under-construction One World Trade Center. Right, we already knew that. Anyway, this article offers a number of good examples of how to dismiss that fact if it comes up in conversation with your New York friends. Things like, "the 'tallest tower' isn't meaningful anymore," and rhetorical questions like, "Did Babe Ruth’s stature diminish after Roger Maris?" [Chicago News Cooperative / NY Times]
