This week's top dish from Eater Chicago, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
1) UKRAINIAN VILLAGE: Looks like the East Village is getting itself a new entertainment center. Word is that the popular Brooklyn Bowl will open the Chicago Bowl and yes, Blue Ribbon is on board to do the restaurant. Opening is months away since they're just going before the neighborhood board Nov. 1 to get approval for an entertainment license.
2) DOWNTOWN: Build-out at the Florentine is moving along quite nicely and is on track to open Nov. 11. We did a walk through with executive chef Todd Stein and BLT Restaurant Group executive corporate chef Rodelio Aglibot and feel like it's going to be a gorgeous space.
3) WICKER PARK: Big Star is getting an enclosed patio! On top of that, they're finally adding beef tacos to the menu and working on producing an anniversary beer with Goose Island.
4) LAKE BLUFF: If you find yourself in the North Shore and really hungry but don't know where to eat and don't want to cook, you can soon swing by Wisma, a gourmet grocery concept by Inovasi chef/owner John des Rosiers. And this isn't the only location. He hopes to eventually have 20-25 spots throughout Chicagoland.
