From the Burnham Plan of Chicago to the World's Columbian Exposition, Daniel Burnham and John Wellborn Root are two architects that truly shaped Chicago and laid the foundation for the city's legacy as an architectural heavyweight. In addition to building some of the earliest skyscrapers, the pair also designed residences for the city's elite, and this home in the Jackson Boulevard District and Extension is one of them. Known as the James H. Pearson House, this old brick mansion was built in 1884 and features some striking brick ornamentation. The home has been converted into a three flat but could certainly become a spacious and stately home once again. It sits on a large lot and includes a detached one car garage. Here's an opportunity to get a true piece of Chicago architectural history. It'll cost you exactly $1 million.
