Chicago residents weren't the only ones struggling to stay dry during yesterday's wild flash flood, as the city's two latest and greatest public park spaces were also pounded by the rain. The Chicago Riverwalk, which just completed and opened three new stretches of its extension, ended up taking on more water than it could handle and began to flood last evening. Heading northwest into the neighborhoods, The 606, which just opened two weekends ago, also became a temporary water reservoir yesterday. The two projects have been the cause of much excitement from city residents, but it seems that neither are impervious to Chicago's brutal and unpredictable weather.
