The Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (SOAR) wrote a letter expressing broad dissatisfaction with the three finalist designs for Old Prentice's replacement building. The biomedical facility is proposed in two stages, and neither architectural undertaking fulfills the promise of an "iconic" structure at either stage in SOAR's opinion. While responding favorably to specific design features like clear glass, pocket parks, the absence of a parking garage, and overall pedestrian design, members of the SOAR Real Estate Committee are asking Northwestern for more vision and innovation.
