Last weekend's break in the heat was the perfect opportunity to check in on how things are progressing with Optima Center Chicago. Designed by award-winning architect David Hovey, the 42-story building is going up on St. Clair and Illinois in Streeterville. To date, only one rendering has been released of the project, and it doesn't provide us with a ton of guidance on what type of detailing is planned for the facade. The concrete frame is already 8 floors above street level as seen from Upper Illinois. Apartments in the 325-unit rental building will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors, SS-apps, and granite countertops. The project also calls for a 238-space parking structure. Check back for more updates!
