The 31-story apartment tower rising at Clark and Chicago has come a long way since breaking ground in mid 2015. Co-developed by Ryan Companies and Lincoln Property Company, the tower at 833 N Clark has grown from two stories in December to close to two dozen. The development will bring 373 new luxury rental units to the Gold Coast/River North area when it opens for business in early 2017.
While many of the neighborhood’s most recent residential high-rise projects have opted for all-glass facades, the Ryan A+E designed tower is going with somewhat of a hybrid appearance featuring glass curtain walls on the north and south elevations and a more old-school concrete grid fronting Clark Street. Crews began installing the first precast panels earlier this week and will most likely soon start wrapping the lower levels in glass.
