Originally listed last summer for $15 million, a French Chateau style mansion situated on 2.75 acres of prime lakefront land in suburban Glencoe, Illinois has finally found a buyer following its return to the market this fall at $12 million. Despite settling an $8.5 million offer that saw the property’s initial asking price slashed by nearly half, the transaction still dominated the list of top Chicagoland November closings published by Chicago Agent Magazine.
The home, which according to the Chicago Tribune previously belonged to private equity executive Avy Stein, was completed by architect Howard Holtzman in 1992. In addition to a private 322-foot-wide frontage on Lake Michigan, the North Shore home features five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a large pool, putting green, interior basketball court, and attached four-car garage. But enough description, time to scroll down and gawk at some pictures.
